This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company is seeking a highly organized professional with a minimum of five years of Operations Management experience who can lead teams, improve operational efficiency, manage performance, and support strategic business growth.

Operations Manager Job Overview
The Operations Manager will take responsibility for managing the organization’s day-to-day operations while supporting projects across Nigeria and international locations. The successful candidate will oversee operational planning, staff management, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with company objectives.
The role combines office-based responsibilities, operational site visits, and remote work. Applicants must have a reliable broadband connection and a quiet, private home office suitable for virtual meetings. A company laptop and work phone will be provided.

Role Summary
PyroGenesys Nigeria Ltd is looking for an experienced Operations Manager who can develop operational strategies, supervise teams, monitor performance, and maintain high standards across company operations.
The successful candidate will manage technical teams, oversee budgets, coordinate audits, support recruitment and HR functions, monitor payroll, and ensure operational compliance while driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth and organizational objectives.
- Prepare operational reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Monitor staff performance and present weekly performance reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Support recruitment, staff supervision, and HR-related activities.
- Monitor payroll across multiple projects and departments.
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenditure, and allocate spending across cost centres.
- Set operational objectives and performance targets aligned with company strategy.
- Oversee the establishment and management of technical shift teams to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
- Develop and improve operational systems, processes, and procedures.
- Coordinate the import and export of equipment and operational materials.
- Oversee the repatriation of funds while working closely with the Management Accountant and regulatory bodies.
- Design, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for individuals and teams.
- Utilize performance management systems to track productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews and implement improvement plans where required.
- Recognize and reward outstanding employee performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, customers, suppliers, funders, and key stakeholders.

- Participate in relevant training programmes, conferences, and national or international meetings.

Essential Requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of five years’ experience as an Operations Manager.
- Master’s degree (required).
- Proven experience managing teams and supervising employees.
- Experience working with international grant-funded projects.
- Strong reporting, monitoring, and performance management skills.
- Experience managing international project budgets and collaborating with project partners.
- Ability to assess operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing health and safety in operational environments.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational performance data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting reports to senior management.
- Proven record of meeting financial and revenue targets.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:
- Degree and industry experience in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience using Xero Cloud Accounting Software.
- Bid writing experience.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, power mini-grids, and waste-to-energy systems.
- Experience managing field-based operational teams.
- Knowledge of agriculture, agribusiness, or agri-processing industries.
- Familiarity with carbon finance and asset management.
- Experience with government-funded programmes and fiscal incentives.
- Knowledge of import and export procedures.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and licensing.
- Strong audit and data analysis skills.
Performance Management
The Operations Manager’s performance will be reviewed by the Chief Operating Officer in accordance with the company’s Performance Management Policy.
