Job Description
Jhpiego, in partnership with the Global Fund, is conducting a critical Gender Analysis to inform the GC8 Grant in Nigeria. We urgently require experienced Qualitative Research Assistants in Anambra and Jigawa States to support high-quality data collection through Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) across all three senatorial districts in each state.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend mandatory 2-day training and tool pre-testing
- Conduct KIIs with program managers, CSOs, community leaders, PPMVs, and state stakeholders
- Facilitate FGDs with men, women, adolescents, and key populations
- Screen, recruit, and obtain informed consent from participants
- Ensure ethical data collection and immediate reporting of any adverse events
- Secure and upload high-quality audio recordings daily
- Transcribe 10–12 interviews/FGDs per assistant
- Submit daily activity reports and final comprehensive report
Required Qualification and Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in qualitative research and stakeholder engagement
- Proven experience facilitating KIIs and FGDs on sensitive health/gender topics
- Prior experience working with key populations (FSW, PWID, etc.) is a strong advantage
- Excellent command of spoken and written English + fluency in local languages (Igbo for Anambra, Hausa for Jigawa)
- Demonstrated experience in transcription of interviews/FGDs
- Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, especially on gender and SRMNCAH issues
- Previous involvement in Global Fund, USAID, or similar donor-funded research is highly desirable
- Available for 10 non-consecutive field days within 1 month
