Job Description
FHI 360 is seeking a highly competent Program Officer II to support the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Nigeria program in Enugu. This role is essential for the effective execution of project activities, ensuring that state-level operations stay on schedule and within budget. You will serve as a key administrative and programmatic anchor, collecting data, managing compliance documentation, tracking subgrantee deliverables, and facilitating cross-departmental coordination. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a passion for public health and infectious disease control, capable of managing complex administrative requirements while maintaining high-quality donor deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and project management support to the STRIDES Nigeria team, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Synthesize project data and metrics into progress summaries for leadership and donor reporting.
- Monitor compliance with internal and external regulations, including tracking sub-contractor and subgrantee deliverables.
- Assist in budget coordination, cost tracking, and financial analysis related to project objectives.
- Facilitate effective communication between partners, technical teams, and internal units (Finance, Contracts).
- Manage the project calendar, maintaining electronic/physical files and ensuring timely report submissions.
- Identify project risks and issues, coordinating with leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct state-level project activity coordination and field-related research as required.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, or Behavioral Sciences.
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant project management experience in an NGO, government agency, or private organization.
- Solid understanding of project design concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, SharePoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and recommend practical corrective actions.
