Job Description
West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is recruiting a Confidential Secretary V to provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to senior officers. The role involves managing confidential information, handling correspondence, maintaining schedules, and utilizing office technology while ensuring efficiency, discretion, and professionalism in a fast-paced examination environment.
Key Responsibilities for Confidential Secretary
- Manage and handle confidential documents, correspondence, and sensitive information
- Prepare reports, memos, letters, and official documents using MS Office tools
- Maintain diaries, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for superiors
- Organize and maintain efficient filing systems (manual and electronic)
- Respond to internal and external inquiries with professionalism
- Support office administration and follow-up on assigned tasks
- Utilize web-based systems and office technology for daily operations
- Perform other secretarial duties as assigned while maintaining strict confidentiality
Required Qualifications and Skills for Confidential Secretary
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Secretarial Studies, Secretarial Administration, or Office Technology Management from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in the use of Personal Computers, MS Office software package, and web-based systems
- Five (5) credits in SSCE/WASSCE including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or six (6) credits at not more than two (2) sittings
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and influencing skills
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities with high level of flexibility
- Ability to work as a team player and successfully implement new ideas
- High sense of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail
