Jhpiego is implementing the innovative Harmony Care Project in Ebonyi State to transform antenatal and postnatal care through group-based models in 15 facilities. We are urgently seeking a passionate Community and Facility Assistant based in Abakaliki to drive community engagement, strengthen facility-community linkages, and boost demand for quality RMNCAH services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, CHEWs, CHWs, and health facilities
  • Lead demand creation activities and promote healthy maternal and newborn behaviors
  • Identify and refer vulnerable women and children for life-saving services
  • Support development of work plans, budgets, and program reports
  • Assist in monitoring & evaluation of project activities at state level
  • Collate and update program management tools (scorecards, stakeholder databases, etc.)
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and learning sessions
  • Support documentation of success stories, technical briefs, and publications
  • Work closely with QI Specialist to ensure activities meet donor standards

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Community Health, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience implementing community-based MNCH/RMNCAH programs in Nigeria
  • Proven track record working with Community Health Workers and community leaders
  • Deep understanding of RMNCAH challenges in Nigeria (especially South-East)
  • At least 2–3 years programmatic experience in international donor-funded projects
  • Strong data collection, reporting, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Fluency in English + any Ebonyi local language is a strong advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel up to 25% within the state
