FHI 360 is seeking a skilled Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to support the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Nigeria program in Enugu. This role is crucial for ensuring that project data is robust, reliable, and used to drive evidence-based decisions. You will operationalize MEL tools, manage state-level data collection, and support capacity building for staff and partners. Key Responsibilities

  • Support state-level implementation of MEL systems, tools, and procedures to track project progress and accountability.
  • Track STRIDES Nigeria indicators and produce high-quality reports and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct data quality assurance (DQA) activities, including validation, verification, and monitoring of state-level data.
  • Assist in the development of technical materials, reports, and interventions based on evidence-based insights.
  • Contribute to the documentation of lessons learned and support knowledge-sharing within the state and across the national project team.
  • Support capacity building of staff and partners on MEL best practices and data literacy.
  • Ensure all MEL activities align with the Activity MEL Plan (AMELP) and FHI 360’s global standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and program teams to ensure EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) strategy compliance.

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, M&E, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in M&E, including managing data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in database management and data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, Stata).
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection methods and routine monitoring.
  • Ability to work effectively in a medium-to-large corporate or NGO environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage moderate-to-complex data problems.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and contextual/ethical issues.
