Job Description
Beta Glass Plc is recruiting a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Supervisor for its Agbara plant in Ogun State. The role is responsible for identifying hazard points, driving corrective actions, enforcing PPE compliance, and implementing safety programs to ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with applicable HSE regulations and ISO management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, recommend, and implement safety policies, accident prevention systems, and control programs
- Ensure prompt reporting and investigation of accidents, near-misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions
- Interpret and evaluate factory compliance with applicable safety and fire codes
- Review construction plans for new and existing structures to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Monitor safety inspection programs, evaluate maintenance, and prioritize hazard corrections
- Analyze safety trends and recommend actions to reduce risks and financial loss
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and serve as company contact for HSE compliance matters
- Develop and implement safety education programs to improve awareness and compliance
- Ensure required HSE licenses, registrations, and statutory obligations are maintained
- Support budgeting and special project planning for HSE initiatives
Required Qualification and Skills
- BSc/HND in Environmental Management and Protection or related discipline
- 7–10 years’ experience in a relevant HSE role (manufacturing/industrial environment preferred)
- Membership of professional associations such as ISPON (added advantage)
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian and international HSE laws, standards, and regulations
- Knowledge of ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 45001/14001)
- Strong decision-making ability in fast-paced, changing environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
