Job Description
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is recruiting Examinations Officer (General Duties) to support the planning, coordination, and successful conduct of credible examinations across Nigeria. This entry-level role involves general administrative, logistical, and operational responsibilities that ensure smooth examination processes, data integrity, and adherence to WAEC standards.
Key Responsibilities for Examinations Officer
- Coordinate examination registration, scheduling, and logistics
- Supervise examination centres and ensure compliance with WAEC rules and regulations
- Process examination materials, scripts, and result-related documentation
- Support data capture, verification, and management of candidate records
- Liaise with schools, supervisors, and stakeholders for effective examination delivery
- Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis of examination outcomes
- Participate in pre-examination, intra-examination, and post-examination activities
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned by senior officers
Required Qualifications and Skills for Examinations Officer
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline from a recognized institution
- NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate
- Minimum of five (5) credits in SSCE/WASSCE including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or six (6) credits at not more than two (2) sittings
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office applications
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
