West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is recruiting a Confidential Secretary II to provide high-level secretarial, administrative, and executive support to senior management. The role involves managing confidential information, coordinating office operations, preparing official documents, and utilizing advanced office technology while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and efficiency in a dynamic examination environment.

Key Responsibilities for Confidential Secretary

  • Manage highly confidential documents, correspondence, and sensitive executive information
  • Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and official documents using MS Office and related tools
  • Coordinate schedules, appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for senior officers
  • Maintain effective filing systems (physical and electronic) and track important documents
  • Act as liaison between management and other departments or external stakeholders
  • Provide secretariat support during meetings and follow up on action points
  • Utilize web-based systems and modern office technology for improved productivity
  • Perform advanced administrative duties while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity

Required Qualifications and Skills for Confidential Secretary

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies, Secretarial Administration, or Office Technology Management from a recognized institution
  • NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate
  • Relevant professional qualification is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Personal Computers, MS Office software suite, and web-based systems
  • Five (5) credits in SSCE/WASSCE including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or six (6) credits at not more than two (2) sittings
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, influencing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as a team player, lead change, and successfully implement ideas
  • High level of discretion, flexibility, and attention to detail
