The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is seeking competent candidates for the position of Assistant Examinations Officer III (Information and Communication Technology). This role provides essential ICT support for the planning, administration, and management of digital examination processes, data systems, and technical infrastructure to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of examinations.

Key Responsibilities for Assistant Examinations Officer

  • Provide technical support for computer-based testing and digital examination platforms
  • Install, configure, and maintain ICT hardware and software at examination centres
  • Support data processing, electronic result management, and secure storage systems
  • Troubleshoot technical faults during examination preparation and conduct
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure for examinations
  • Train examination staff on the use of ICT tools and applications
  • Ensure data security, backup, and compliance with WAEC ICT policies
  • Perform additional ICT-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills for Assistant Examinations Officer

  • National Diploma (ND) or NCE in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, or any related discipline from a recognized institution
  • Five (5) credits in SSCE/WASSCE including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or six (6) credits at not more than two (2) sittings
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, networking, and data management
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure during examination seasons
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
