Moniepoint Inc. is recruiting an Information Security Intern under its Women In Tech Internship program in Lagos. The intern will support the cybersecurity team across SOC monitoring, incident response triage, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management to help protect Moniepoint’s infrastructure, products, and customer data while building practical security experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor alerts and events using SIEM, EDR, and other security monitoring tools
  • Perform initial incident triage, document findings, and escalate per incident response protocols
  • Support threat hunting, evidence gathering, and post-incident analysis
  • Collect and analyze threat intelligence from internal and external sources
  • Track emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and adversary tactics
  • Support vulnerability scanning and assessments across networks, systems, and applications
  • Analyze scan results and support remediation tracking with relevant teams
  • Prepare reports on vulnerability findings and overall security posture
  • Work with infrastructure and development teams to improve security posture
  • Maintain accurate documentation for incidents, vulnerabilities, and threat intel
  • Support development of security processes and incident response playbooks
  • Ensure SOC practices align with standards such as PCI-DSS and ISO 27001

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Up to 2 years of cybersecurity experience (internship/entry-level acceptable)
  • Basic knowledge of SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management tools, and incident response concepts
  • Foundational understanding of operating systems, networking, and security principles
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Preferred: CompTIA Security+ or similar entry-level certification
  • Preferred: Experience with SOC tools (SIEMs, EDR, vulnerability scanners, threat intel platforms)
