Job Description
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is hiring a Production Technologist to provide full-spectrum Production Technology support to the Bonga North Asset within Shell’s Deepwater Upstream business. The role focuses on WRFM, well integrity, surveillance planning, production optimization, and resource maturation activities, while contributing technical expertise to other deepwater assets and wider hydrocarbon resource management priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Production Technology input across WRFM, ARPR, LTRO, and resource maturation activities
- Support implementation of WRFM global standards, minimum requirements, and Practice Table processes
- Identify and apply new technologies and techniques to enhance production potential and reduce locked-in potential
- Plan and execute surveillance data acquisition, interpretation, and management to maximize production and meet statutory requirements
- Drive production system optimization using WRFM processes, including building integrated models (IPSM)
- Lead structured reviews of wells and reservoirs to identify short-term oil/gas opportunities and future well use plans
- Participate in milestone QA/QCs in line with DCAF requirements and ensure technical assurance completion across disciplines
- Provide inputs to resource volumes and production forecasts for annual business plans and activity plans
- Support SEC, NNS, and PRCS-compliant resource volume estimation and reporting
- Embed HSSE principles in all work activities and promote safe, responsible operations
- Strengthen integration across disciplines and partners through effective stakeholder management
- Coach team members and contribute to technical capability development within the team
Required Qualification and Skills
- Demonstrated commitment to coaching and building team capability
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or Science
- Proven experience in completion design, artificial lift, sand control, production enhancement/optimization, and well integrity management
- Proficiency with Production Technology software such as WePS, Prosper, IPSM, FIST, Stim2001, SPOT, and WellCat
- Knowledge of PI, Production Universe, and OFM is an advantage
- Strong experience preparing PT input for WRFM, well integrity, and well proposals (completion design and operating envelope definition)
- Familiarity with well delivery activities including drilling, recompletions, and workovers
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to integrate technical information and assess project risks to support investment decisions
